November 16, 2009 through November 19, 2009 O’Reilly Media, Inc. and TechWeb are presenting the Web2Expo. Web2Expo showcases the latest Web 2.0 business models, development paradigms and design strategies for the builders of the next-generation Web. Part tradeshow, part education, and all networking, Web2Expo is considered a must-attend event on the East Coast.
This year W2E is offereing free passes that includes access to the expo hall, all keynote sessions, all sponsored sessions, Web2Open presented by Podcamp Foundation, Launch Pad, Birds of a Feather Sessions, and a Booth Crawl. If you would like to attend Web2Open for free, register for an Expo Only pass using code webny09opn now through November 15, 2009.
Web2Open, presented by the PodCamp Foundation, is Web 2.0 Expo’s “unconference” – a free, community-driven event happening at Javits Conference Center in New York City, where you can connect with other participants to discuss Web 2.0 topics and questions. As an unconference, there will be a mix of pre-scheduled content and an open grid for attendees to add sessions via an onsite grid. All talks will emphasize participation and conversation over presentations.
The part I’m most excited about is the Web2Open sessions on Wednesday November 18 and Thursday November 19 because I’m speaking on social media inside the corporate firewall. Above and beyond that, you will be traveling the same hallways as the most infulential people in the social media industry and have almost unlimited networking opportunities.
The paid track of the conference is also amazing. It’s rare to have the opportunity to see this many ‘power-hitters’ in one place at one time. I highly recommend visiting the Web2Expo website, registering, and start planning your week in New York City. Be sure to leave a comment here or drop the Purple Stripe team a message on Twitter if your attending!
