Greg Verdino shared a great article (that he was quoted in) on Wall Street Journal Online, “Bosses Learn Not to Be So #Clueless” that talks about how some executives need help understanding the use and design of social media networks and digital communications and commerce.
Purple Stripe works and trains company teams in digital communications and networking and on occasion someone from the C-Suite slips in. It mucks up the entire process. The article pegs it right when it is mentioned that exec’s need their OWN training.
The article mentions that some companies charge upwards of $60,000 for a two-day course to teach executives the lingo. We can’t help but notice there is a large gap in what is charged for executives to learn and what companies are willing to pay for their team in the trenches to learn.
And, no, “interwebs” is not a skill you can mention in an interview.
